Date Night at Nino’s: When One Table Just Isn’t Enough ❤️🍝
Sometimes date night calls for candlelight, quiet conversation, and splitting a plate of pasta.
And sometimes… you call the whole crew, take over a table, and order half the menu.
Our recent night out at Nino’s Italian in Baton Rouge was absolutely the latter — a big, beautiful spread of fresh pasta, perfect wine, and dishes you can’t help but pass around the table.
The Starters That Steal the Show
We kicked things off with Burrata ($15) — creamy, dreamy cheese paired with warm olives, sweet roasted garlic, fresh tomato, basil, peppers, and their perfectly grilled house bread.
Then came the House Made Ricotta ($14), whipped to perfection and drizzled with local honey, topped with fresh fruit, a hint of truffle, and served with more of that bread we couldn’t stop eating.
Pasta Goals Achieved
Nino’s takes pasta seriously, and it shows:
Lombardia ($26): Gulf shrimp sautéed with capers, cherry tomatoes, lemon garlic butter, fresh spaghetti, herbs, and parmesan.
Gnocchi ($26): Handmade, pillowy gnocchi swimming in a red pepper pesto cream with grilled onion and zucchini.
Carbonara ($27): House made guanciale, parmesan, farm egg, peas, cherry tomatoes, and fresh spaghetti — topped with panko-crusted chicken.
Bolognese ($26): A classic, done right. Oven roasted marinara, ground ribeye, basil, parmesan, and a dollop of green onion mascarpone.
Not Just Pasta
Because we couldn’t resist, we went big with the 35-Day Dry Aged Bone-In Pork Chop ($42) — glazed with BBQ sauce, topped with seasonal fruit chimichurri, and served alongside potato scaloppini and fresh seasonal vegetables.
